Sherri,
After speaking with our mutual clients this evening, Teresa and Charbel, it seems as though the aspect of the plumbing
waste piping was trying to be "sold off" to them as moot, basically
under the premise that Mr. Geer stated that the plumbing worked adequately and
the he had subsequently contacted a member of the Town of Wake Forest
Inspections Department and they told him that the home had passed all
inspections and that there existed no issues.
Acting on the Hamaty's behalf,
regardless as to who said what and to whom ... the NC Building Code is quite
clear regarding the descending slope of sewer waste piping and to what degree
based on what size of pipe. It is not based on an interpretive
value as to "it's okay." As to the
cleanout requirement within the NC Building Code, it too is specifically clear
as to when cleanouts are required. We mentioned both within our Plumbing
review, as well as, providing photos of levels and piping to affirm our
validation.
We stand strong that these items do not now, nor did they
at the time of original construction meet Code; and would ask that corrective
action be taken to provide remedy.
Or, we would ask Mr. Geer to provide in writing to the Hamaty's
the name of the person contacted, means of contact (number called) and the time
/ date; and the overview of the conversation, as well as, his signature
attesting to the affiance of the statements within.
Sincerely, Gary H.
